Two seminarians from St. Mary Mokena were ordained deacons by Bishop Ronald Hicks on Friday, April 23, 2021 during a diocesan Mass of Ordination at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet. Deacons Brian Geary and Gregory Alberts are now considered transitional deacons as they anticipate being ordained priests next year.
The remodeled St. Mary Parish Hall is already benefiting the parish by providing new meeting spaces, technological upgrades, and updated kitchen and bathrooms.
After two years, St. Mary parishioners were elated to celebrate Holy Week and Easter once again in church.
Incoming high school freshmen through graduating seniors are invited to attend the 2020 Steubenville Youth Conference at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio from July 17-19, 2020. The St. Mary Mokena Youth Ministry Group is organizing the trip and will be traveling together via bus.
