Mokena, IL, September 14, 2017 — Saint Mary Mokena will be hosting its 4th annual Oktoberfest celebration for the community on Saturday, September 30 from 6pm to midnight on the parish grounds at 115th Avenue & 195th Street.
Traditional German food will be served, including bratwurst, schnitzel and stroganoff, along with German beer. Live entertainment will be provided by Die Musikmeisters German Band, as well as a DJ.
Tickets are $25 each and cover food, entertainment and non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets can be purchased at the parish office or online until 4:00 pm on Friday, September 29th. They can also be purchased at the event for $30 each.
“There’s no better way to kick off the fall season than with music, dancing and delicious German food, enjoyed in the company of friends and family,” says Jeannine Skarbek-Kubas, event organizer. “We invite everyone in the community to come out and join in on the fun and fellowship. This event is not just for St. Mary parishioners.”
Now in its 4th year, Saint Mary Oktoberfest is the parish’s flagship community and fundraising event. Roughly 600 people attend the fest each year. A portion of proceeds will be donated to FISH, a local, community-based “helping hand” available to persons in situations of need.
