Saint Mary Mokena Men’s Ministry will host a morning of activities on Saturday, December 16 beginning at 8 a.m. and concluding at 10:30 a.m. The day will open with Mass, followed by a complimentary breakfast, scripture study and presentation by Rev. Raed Bader, Parochial Vicar at Saint Mary. All men in the community are welcome.
Rev. Bader’s presentation will focus on Evangelization, or how to spread God’s word to others, a task which Pope Francis calls “the work of the whole church.”
“Events like this provide a much-needed means for our men to bond in their Catholic faith and grow spiritually, says Bob Prskalo, Men’s Ministry Coordinator at Saint Mary Mokena. “It offers them an energizing spiritual boost to start their weekend. The general feedback we have received suggests these meetings are something our men look forward to each month.”
Saint Mary Men’s Ministry is open to all men age 18 years or older. The group meets monthly for Holy Mass, breakfast, Bible study and a guest speaker. Its mission statement is “We are real Men for Jesus Christ; our families and each other. Together we seek to discover what it means to be Catholic Men in today’s world.”
