St. Mary Mokena invites married couples to spend the last night before Lent enjoying each other’s company at the parish’s Mardi Gras Date Night on Tuesday, March 5 at 7pm in the Church Hall.
The night will include dinner and a 25-minute video, followed by table discussions. Wine and desserts will also be provided.
Couples with children don’t have to cancel their plans to attend, as free babysitting will be provided at the parish throughout the evening.
“In the hustle and bustle of daily life, work, and kids, it’s often hard for married couples to spend quality time together,” says Melissa Novak, Director of Faith Formation at St. Mary Mokena. “We hope the Mardi Gras Date Night creates an opportunity to do just that.”
Although there is no official charge for the evening, free will offerings will be accepted to help cover the cost of the dinner and make future events like this possible.
Couples who are interested in attending should RSVP by February 26 so the parish can get an accurate head count for food and childcare.
