Miles Christi Priest to Speak at St. Mary Mokena Parish Mission

St. Mary Parish Mission 2019Father Paul De Soza, MC will present at Saint Mary Mokena’s three-day parish mission on March 18-20 at 7 pm in the main church.

Topics will include how to live one’s Catholic faith daily and how to recognize God’s presence in everyday life. Confessions will be offered on Monday, March 18, and Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 20.

A native Argentinian, Father De Soza has been a priest for 13 years and belongs to the order Miles Christi, which translates to “Soldier of Christ.”

Founded in 1994, Miles Christi is dedicated to the sanctification of the laity. The order espouses the teachings of Saint Ignatius of Loyola and offers spiritual direction to help the faithful grow in their relationship with Christ. It is particularly known for its spiritually-instructive confessions and for working directly with youth and young families.

“My hope is that after attending an evening of the mission, people will have had the opportunity to reflect on their own spiritual life, have the opportunity for prayer, and walk away feeling refreshed and renewed in their faith,” says Melissa Novak, Director of Faith Formation at St. Mary and the event organizer.

The three-day mission is free for anyone to attend. In addition, Father De Soza will hold a special reception for young adults before his talk on Tuesday, March 19 in the Church Hall.
